Momentum
New album by Endri Nini & Antoaneta Emanuilova!
From the very first moment, the atmosphere seems to glow in Beethoven’s last sonata for piano and violoncello, with which Antoaneta Emanuilova and Endri Nini open their new GENUIN CD Momentum. Momentum stands for the potency of the ideal moment, its inherent dynamism, and its independence from temporal processes. In addition to Beethoven, the two award-winning musicians perform Brahms’ Cello Sonata in F major and Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro, works of great inner fervour that demand the attention of listeners and musicians alike at every moment and yet reward this effort many times over with incredible inner richness. Emanuilova and Nini play the three late works, which are by no means serene, with crackling energy.
…the duo finds a delicate approach towards the works [Beethoven, Brahms and Schmann], which reveals also a certain vulnerability and sensibility…Antoaneta Emanuilova and Endri Nini energetically throw themselves into this pulsating flow of music, never losing their attention to every detail.

These two musicians work so well together that their performance matches the best I have heard over these many years. Their balances of phrasing and volume bring out the conversa tional aspect of this remarkable romantic music in a highly enjoyable and intimate way.
